Got the opportunity to watch DH pitch last night in Memphis. He was on point for the 6 innings he was in to claim a 6-0 win. He was up or over the 100 pitch count last night.

Is it normally to use a AAA pitcher to 100 pitches? I would have expected very conservative management towards pitchers who will have a shot at the big leagues.

It's not unusual at all. They're one step away from MLB and they have to be ready for that kind of workload or they will fizzle out. I think the Cardinals will use him as a reliever at least initially. I'm thinking that they will trade one of their pitching prospects for a bat- unless Mo sits on his ass again waiting for the market to develop.
