No news. My guess is everyone but Pilk comes back. And we lose Grace and every signee drafted above him. Everyone else shows up.

This is probably not a bad thing. With Mangum, Macnamee and Alexander back, if we don't open up a spot or two in the field somewhere for playing time then some of these young studs will likely transfer.

From what I’ve heard, Small is coming back. He’s not going to get anywhere close to a number in round 26 that would justify him leaving. He could come back, get his velocity back and parlay the 26th round into the top 3 rounds.

Eric Cerantola, RHP from Canada drafted in the 30th round, says he's coming to school. Probably not a surprise but still. The last Canadian we had turned out to be pretty good.

I think we get Gunner Halter from the JUCO's next year. That's a very big pick up for us. He probably starts for us in the infield either at SS or 3B. Hayden Jones wasn't drafted and I think he will be a good catcher for us. Not sure that he starts over Skelton and Gilbert especially if both improve.

I think Cerentola, Bryce Brock, Christian MacCloud, and Brandon Smith could help our staff out as freshmen.


Bryce Bush is a really good player too. He could play 3B or the corner OF spots for us. Bush has done really well in national home run derby's and things like that.

Still hitting leadoff though, and apparently tearing it up. Had a 5 RBI game last night, including a game winning double in the 13th.

Halter hit .400 with 20 homers in JUCO. That feels like somebody who’s going to start for us. If he doesn’t start at shortstop over LA, I could see him starting at third and Foscue moving over to second. Or maybe Halter can start at second.

Academics and an education are important to him. Not only that but he could certainly improve his stock by going to college and turning a 10th round selection into a top 3 round selection his junior year.
