Tcu went to 4 straight CWS from 2013-2017. He's 39 and played in mlb. Hiring him and keeping Gautreau could be an absolute HR

He’d keep Gautreau too as they have a relationship. At this point, I want a pitching type HC that we can pair with Gautreau to keep continuity with the staff. He’s supposed to be one of the rising star assistants.

Well the team ERA was 3.45 this year so if that's as bad as it gets then count me in. I'm too lazy to look up year over year and google didn't give me a quick answer

He's worth looking at.

Rumors are great though when we look back. Did Schloss turn us down (city, wait, whatever) or did we turn him down (rumor woman issues) or did he interview to leverage TCU into improving some stuff he wanted improved. Did McConnell really have legit interest or also using for salary leverage?

Did agents convince Cohen he had his pick of the litter when most planned to really stay?

Who knows.

But I wouldn't mind hearing we interviewed Saarloos

Saarloos and Gautreau seem like a great duo but Cohen has backed himself into a corner saying it would be a guy with plenty of head coaching experience. I'm sure Saarloos would jump at the chance b/c it doesn't appear Schloss is going anywhere for a while.

I hope Cohen doesn't let his dumb comments compound the problem. Forget those comments now and just find the right guy even if it's an assistant or a HC that hasn't sniffed CWS. Just get the right guy

The key is to just find the right guy. I'd rather him have HC experience but while an assistant would make me nervous I'd be ok if the guys comes across as really impressive. I liked Cann, but you could tell from Day 1 that he was pretty green and also had some growing up to do.

3 of the sec teams (sully, Corbin, and butch) left in SR play were hired as assistants. 2 of them have won a natty. Here are the guys I have heard that are/were candidates for our job: Corbin, McDonnell, schloss, butch, and godwin. All except for schloss were hired at their school as assistants
