Solo - A Star Wars Story

First, stop listening to critics and go see this movie. It is really good, and the actors did a great job.
Just go to the movie, experience some back story on one of our favorite characters, and enjoy it for what it is.

FYI, if you only like 3 of the 10 movies made in the star wars universe, then you may not be an actual star wars fan.

Hoping to see that and Deadpool 2 this weekend. Glad to see Solo is being well accepted. Anyone else see the news about the writer/director for Logan doing the same for an upcoming Boba Fett movie?

I lost interest after the last couple Star Wars movies. Disney is ruining the franchise. TFA was ok but the plot was bad, Rogue One was ok but kinda boring until the Vader scene, and then TLJ was absolute trash. I hate what Disney is doing. The magic is gone with Star Wars. But we'll be bombarded with movies and all things "Star Wars" for decades. #notmyLuke

Agree that Disney has it's flaws but not with Star Wars. The last one I saw was when Luke was an old guy isolated on an island. When he turned around at the end of the movie identifying himself gave me chills.

Watched it last night. Solo is better than The Last Jedi. It is a pretty good movie. I saw that the actors are signed on for 3 total movies and I will definitely watch the next 2. Boba Fett getting the Logan director is going to be AWESOME.

Deadpool 2 is very good also. I am not sure it is as good as the first one but is a very good movie.

I would say that Solo was better than the force awakens and the last jedi. On par with Rogue One.

The issue with the main star wars story 7,8,9 is that they are messing with the known established powers of the force, and people do not like that. Also, they have terrible main story arcs. They should have not recycled the death star thing. They should not have made Luke turn into what he is. I mean, Luke is the most powerful Jedi per the expanded universe information, and yet we do not get to see any of his self taught powers. Nothing. They have purposely squandered a huge opportunity and that is why the movies are seen as "lacking".

No Spoilers here........... but with the character that shows up in Solo, the story arc has some really good direction to it right now with Solo.

Here is where I disagree - how would they make a bunch of bad ass Jedi movies about Luke post "Return of the Jedi" with a 65 year old actor and make it believable? That's one of the reasons the last Indiana Jones movie sucked so bad - Ford was too old to be swinging on whips and being blown thru the air in a fridge (ignoring the fact of how bad that storyline was). Now, could they have made Luke a more lasting Yoda/Obi Wan figure? Sure. We also don't know that they won't in the next movie. They had to hand the franchise off to younger actors and killing a bunch of old people is one way to do it.

I am in the same boat. Even though I know how it pretty much eventually ends, I would rather see Solo 2 than the next Star Wars. Han, Chewie, Lando, Nest, and Queen of the Dragons are light years better than Rey, Finn, Kylo, and Poe.
