By the way for those that aren't familiar with tennis, the down and up arrow doesn't necessarily mean they are winning or losing. You have to look for the asterisk to see who is serving.

If you are losing 3-2 but are serving, you aren't really losing. But if you are down 3-2 and the opponent is serving, that means they've broken your serve and are losing.

Just a point of clarification for those that don't pay as much attention to tennis.

Coach Matt was actually an assistant under our old HC. He's a good coach. Relates to the players well. Needless to say, our Men's tennis program is in very good hands.

So the way scoring works in NCAA team tennis is this:

Best of 7 points. First you play 3 doubles matches. The team who wins 2/3 of the doubles matches gets 1 point toward their 4 points required to win. Then there are six singles matches, worth a point each.

Doubles matches (best of 3) = 1 point
6 singles matches = 1 point each (6 total possible points)
First to 4 points wins.

So MSU won the doubles point. It was the first time in 19 matches someone had beaten OSU in the doubles matches.

There are 3 doubles matches in college tennis. If you win 2 of the 3, you get 1 point. We won 2 of the 3 courts and got the point. Conversely that means Ohio a State didn't get that point from doubles. That's the first time that's happened in 19 matches. Basically Ohio State always wins the doubles point and we beat them at it.

I think so. He's had trouble winning against any other team's #1 lately. Luckily the team hadn't needed him but they really needed him today.
