I wonder if he will make it for the entire season? I truly hate it for him. That finger wag is truly haunting the guy.

He?s being a clown

It?s so obvious that his place is in Starkville yet his ego has him chasing these ridiculous dreams at age what, 55? I?d be ok with it if he was really in it for baseball, but he was all mad because the Rangers didn?t give him a shot so that tells me he’s pacifying his ego

Please stop. Why trash a MSU Legend? What useful purpose does this thread and negative comments about him serve? Why not go ahead and start another thread in how we were correct to alienate John Grisham why you are at it?

Because that is the "cool" thing to do on message boards. Especially by posters who are perfect and never made a mistake or did any thing wrong.

For whatever reason, he wants to give baseball another shot. I will say he didn't strike out so he was at least hitting the ball. I hope he gets out of it whatever he wants. He is getting to play on the same team as his son so if nothing else, he is spending some quality time that most adults don't get to.

Life is too short to not do what you want.

“You can be anything you want to be” - the biggest lie told to the past couple generations

I personally don’t care if he embarrassed himself. I’m just mad because he could do so much more for the game of baseball by running camps in MS (or wherever) and hanging around Starkville in a box or whatever. Same with Polk honestly, he’s over there bebopping around at UAB being dumb. Lack of potential achieved, all due to delusion. Unfortunately the two posters above you have absolutely no reading comprehension and accused me of trashing him. I’m trying to help the brother out

I want him to be a part of MSU, not alienated from it. Then they bring up Grisham, LOL, as if that’s related at all, not even in the same galaxy

We have some special fans I tell you what

Maybe he's doing it to try to reset his HOF clock? I have no other guesses than that one.

Most people think that is why he is doing it from the articles I have read.

That's exactly what he's trying to do, there was a story about it a few months ago. I wish him luck, I would love to see him in the HOF.

He's extremely stupid if he thinks there is greater than a 0.0000% chance an MLB team signs him at 53.

Must we insinuate one of the biggest legends ever to wear the Maroon & White "extremely stupid" ? Dude's playing ball with his son for crying out loud. Dude's got tons of money in the bank yet he's toughing it out in the minors. Prolly riding busses and shit. Can't we leave the dude alone? He could be home popping Viagra and banging his wife, instead he's hanging out in the minors with his son. just shit.

He is also doing something he loves to do, play baseball. It was interesting hearing Coach Moorhead last week talk about driving back home after getting cut from an arena league team. He said he pretty much cried all the way home because he knew that was the last time he would play QB. Most of the time, playing sports has a small shelf life. He is getting to still get out there and spend some time with his son. He has enough money that he can afford to do whatever he wants and right now he wants to still get out there. More power to him.

I wish my financial independence would allow me to follow MY dreams. If I were to fall flat on my face in failure, my family would still be able to eat, and kids attend college.

Even if it is not for the right reasons...

More Power to Ya, Raffy!

You're mad (your word) because Raffy and Polk are doing what they want to do instead of what you want them to do. Are there any other retired persons you don't agree with how they spend their time?

You've had an extreme hard on for negativity of late. Yesterday it was we don't have a snowball's chance in hell on the road in a regional this year cuz we've sucked on the road this year. And now you are laying a turd on Raffy. Sounds like life's been kicking you in the nuts lately. I hope it gets better if that's the case.

Jacked a homer in the game last night. Not bad for a 53 year old.
