And i can't leave out one player playing every inning of every game at .195 in conference. 15 for last 90 .167 and 5 for last 43 .116. 0 hr 7 rbi

In same span as 5 for 43...

Westburg is 6 for 17 .353 0 hr 4 rbi
Foscue is 10 for 37 .270 1 hr 9 rbi

Still team leader in HR and RBIs. RBI leader on the back of hitting around .280 with RISP (.287 last Sunday vs Kentucky). Drove in 2 more with a hit with 2 in RISP last night.

Jose Bautista last year: .203; 23 HR; 65 RBI

Would you consider that good? I don't.

Nope. Can we trade for a SS right now in the sec or has the deadline passed?

You miss the point though... I have never said Luke is a good hitter. He does provide value for his team in other ways though

Westburg can go there with Foscue at 3B.

He very well could... no idea. His defense at 3b has been shaky at best though. Henderson had to put foscue in for him last night. Fielding % is terrible when judging overall defense, but westburg is 2nd to last on team in the stat. Again, no idea how good he is at SS

Anderson/Hatcher should have been the DH a month ago. With Foscue and Westburg manning the left side. But it is what it is.

If it's a terrible stat then don't use it. Go with your eye test

I have no idea how good of a SS he will be in college but he was a highly rated SS coming out of high school. We'll never know until he gets a shot there.

My eye test tells me the kid has a cannon for an arm, but that cannon needs a better scope. Only played 2 innings all year at SS with no challenging plays. He has the arm without a doubt

Third base is a different animal then shortstop. I never understood why we put our future shortstops there instead of just recruiting a third baseman. Of course, the Braves drafted the guy who would have been our all league third baseman/stopper from the bullpen in Riley. Foscue is a more natural guy at third because he had played there before. Westburg will be our next shortstop. Just like our future outfield will be Anderson, Allen, and possibly Jordan but you could move Jordan to second when Stovall is gone and we would be fine. Hatcher will be our full time first baseman next year and he’s a bigger target there then Allen. We have a ton of talent in our positional players. Whoever we get as head coach will have a lot to choose from regarding our lineup.

Have y'all noticed one big difference in our offense since it got better lately? Like last night in one of the earlier innings. We had 2 outs, nobody on, with an 0-2 count and end up scoring 2 runs outta that. It seems like we're getting a lot of 2 out runs these days. Something I haven't been used to seeing over the last few years.

That’s Gautreau’s influence. He’s giving them different approaches and teaching them situational hitting.
