So you have three Doubles matches. One set each match. Best of 3 matches wins the Doubles Point.

Then you have 6 singles matches. Best of 3 sets. Each match is worth one overall point.

Total of 7 points are in play (1 Doubles Point, 6 Singles Points) First to 4 overall points wins.

7 possible points. Best of 7. There are six singles matches (worth a point each), and then 3 doubles matches. Whoever gets 2 of the 3 doubles matches gets a point.

Ok, I didn't understand the doubles point until ya'll explained it. My sister played in high school but being 7 years younger than me, I never went and watched it. My school didn't have tennis until a few years after I left.

Aren't you required to put your 6 players in order of ability, or least in an order you could as argue as that?

You guys keep saying we are losing 3-4. As a tennis guy, that is not losing if you are about to serve. That means that you are on serve and thus tied. If you stay on serve it will eventually get to 6-6 and it will go to a tiebreaker. So, it looks like we are currently on serve with all 3 matches.

I think the NCAA regulates based on how people have played. For example, if you've played #1 at all throughout the season you can no longer play the 6 line. Or something like that.

First time in the Elite 8 since 1998. Ohio State will be very tough, but we’ve got a great team. Great play today, though it seems like Nuno’s been a bit off the last few matches. OSU’s top singles player is one of the top 5 in the country, but I believe Nuno beat him in the fall. Should be fun!

Borges has me worried. I couldn't tell much from the indoor feed, but he was extremely animated during his match. Like way overly animated. Complaining on calls, yelling at odd points in the match, it just didn't make sense. He needs to start living up to his ranking and playing better. Way too many unforced errors on his part today.
