Getting one of three against Florida might be enough to get us inside top 30.

Also, we have 9 wins against Top-25 RPI teams. The only teams with more are Fla (15) and Ark (14).

We have to win 2 unless the NCAA feels sorry for us for the crap we've been through this year.

Has a top 30 rpi team that made Hoover ever been left out?

If we take one from Florida I have to imagine our RPI, even with 2 losses, stays inside the Top 30. I think one win against UF would put us around 25. RPI is so much more volatile in baseball. One win against a great team can fly you up the rankings.

I don't want to risk going 1-2 against UF and then losing our first game in the SEC Tournament. But 2 against UF gets us in I think no matter what. But going 1-3 in our next 4 would be a difficult sell. At that point it's probably a numbers and conference tournament winners game.

Win 1 game, pray for rainout Fri, Sat, and Sun, and then we are in.

Not in the SEC at least since 2011. You get 30 or better, you're very likely good, but don't think we will be 30 taking 1 of 3. It just depends on what happens around us.

ALSO... last year South Carolina got left out at 32 RPI and went to Hoover. There were many at large teams with worse RPIs, even in the high 40s. In the end, the committee will do what they want and point to whatever stat they want to say was the reason why. You can pick something negative out on anybody's resume over 30.

The thing that worries me is I'm not sure that one win will be enough to bring our RPI up out of the 30's assuming we lose the other two games.

Maybe not. Depends on what others around us do. Warren Nolan has us jumping 35 rpi points with a win and dropping 18 points with a loss. At that rate and not considering what other teams around us do, winning one of three would put us at 32.
