Took 2 of 3 from:

USCe. One win was 3-2.
Ark. One win was 5-4.
Tenn. One win was 6-4 in 11 innings.
Ky.
Auburn. One win was 6-4.
Aggie.
Georgia. One win was 7-6.

So. They have lost at least once in 7 of 9 series, and in all four road series (USCe, Tenn, Ky, Aggie) they have lost at least one.

They are the best team in the league (country), but taking at least one is very doable.

Sadly though it's likely we need 2 wins to get into the NCAA tourney

So what starting rotation would everyone like to see this weekend?

I would throw Small whatever game they don't throw singer or kowar. Their number three starter (combination of leftwich and Dyson) have both been very meh. Their eras are 4.26 and 4.47. That is our best bet to get one win.

If we are playing for two wins, I throw small against Kowar and whoever my second best option is against their number 3 guy.

I think it'll be pilk, small, and billingsly. I'm fine with that cause Small is our best pitcher so I don't want him matched with singer

Absolutely agree.

Kowar isn't really any easier

Yea Maybe so. I've been saying all along 14-16 with a top 30 rpi is what is needed to feel good.

True. But kowar is walking 1 every 2.5 innings while singer is walking 1 every 5 innings, and teams hit about .40 points higher off of kowar (.223 compared to .186 off of singer).

Their weekend rotation has consisted of three righties (singer, kowar, and either leftwich or dyson), so I expect our DH will be Vansau.

Can we get just one weekend with Rooker back. We need a 4 HR weekend from a single guy this weekend.

Move Pilk to 2nd game... less pressure, I bet he dominates!

If that happens, Small needs to pitch Saturday (Game 3). He doesn't need to face Singer.

Win 1 vs Florida and 1 in SEC Tourney will get us in

Historically, the tourney doesn't really matter unless you win it. I hope you are right though.

It matters for RPI purposes. When you're 14-16, you need a very high RPI to go along with it. In the 20s youre probably good. In the 40s, you're out. In the 30's, its been about 50/50, but trending toward not good enough.

Seems to me to be a no brainer to keep Pilk on Friday and Small on Saturday. Pilk hasn't been at his best, so I don't see how cutting his rest short by a day makes sense, even if 6 days is plenty. Just seems like he might have some fatigue. That also gets Small in the most winnable game (assuming they keep their starters in the same order).

I guess the downside to that approach is you risk burning up your bullpen if you can't get outs on Thursday.
