We've read before that casinos adjust the sports betting lines to even the bets on each side, so they don't have exposure and they can just pocket the vig.

What if all the action in Philadelphia, MS is on Mississippi State (or OM) due to (over)confident local fans? Will their lines be different than in the Vegas casinos?

Yes. That is assuming they are a different entity and not part of some bigger group.
However, it is also very possible (maybe even likely) that they will anticipate this and adjust the line before it even happens.
Lines have very little to do with trying to predict the spread and much more to do with trying to predict what people are going think.

These casinos are too small, they will play off of bigger books.

Casinos are not concerned with local heavy action.

I agree with Sleepy on why lines move, but it actually has to do with the over all action of the bets. The line will be adjusted by a bookie, so that the money being bet comes out about 50 / 50 for and against a team. The house wants an even split, so when the lines move, the casino is trying to sway people to bet the other way to even out then money. The original line is established by a formula sorta like Sarigin, but the last line is established by the money action. Example, if a line comes out with -7 for one team, and people start to take the points; then the casino will adjust the line to -6 or -5 to get people bet and give the points, just in an effort for even the money on each team placed.

They don't have ave a big be enough market to adjust the lines. You're right. They'll play off of vegas.
