Nicknames given by family, friends, teammates to a player are fine to use. Stupid nicknames, used and given to our players personally, by some poster on a message board are disrespectful to our players, our university, and our fan base. He then went on to tell me a lot of things that went with being a "Redhead". It was a serious subject matter for him. This guy was no "wuss" either, he was a former Vietnam Vet that had seen way more than most. He just appreciated being shown respect.

As far message board people using terms like "Foam Bat", I think they are just being Bullies. I am not a fan of Bullies and have no respect for them at all no matter how much they know about a subject.
