Given our situation I can understand why it is like that. I don't think you're taking that into account at all. There is a LOT more pressure on a starting pitcher that is pitching for a weak hitting team because they know that they aren't going to get a lot of run support and that makes it a LOT harder to pitch. On top of that add in a coach that just leaves him out there and has zero managerial instincts and then he gets left out there too long and that also leads to more runs as well.

Not only that but I’m sure there are a number of “earned runs” he has that absolutely shouldn’t be. Stovall and Westburg both should have errors. Their plays led to 1 and 3 Aggie runs respectively in this game on balls that inexplicably were called hits.

Was at the game tonight and was waiting to see what happened when someone drilled one off that radiused brick wall. Now we know......anything can happen!!....and it did.....got us a triple out of a double. Unfortunately, TAMU's hitting seems to be more consistent than us....and what the hell was Tanner thinking in the bottom of the 8th. Lead off with a nice double and tried to stretch it to 3rd.......wasn't even close. That killed any momentum we had at all for a chance to come back.

I started thinking a few series ago that maybe Ethan Small is our best pitcher. Pilk seems to have trouble closing out hitters after getting ahead in the count. He pitched ok tonight, but not as good as I hoped he would. We have to win the next 2 vs TAMU to have a chance at post season play.

This is correct. I think based on our RPI and our remaining schedule if we have a winning season we're getting in. I think Troy is big for that reason as well- if we beat them I think that will essentially be one less SEC win that we need to get because their RPI is top 50.
