When you are trying to build a program, perception is everything and recruiting plays a massive part in that. The perception is that our recruiting class, thus our program, isn't as good because them dropping spots drops us spots.

Kids 100% look at recruiting rankings. They absolutely look at them and it can affect their decision. But it also hurts us from a media perspective. When they cover signing day and recruiting classes, the further down the list we are in rankings, the further out of the discussion we are. The fewer mentions we get on social media.

It's all cyclical. But it can and does mess with kids looking at where to go.

Yep, all that is true. And kids also like to list that they are a 5 star in their Twitter profiles. It all may all seem silly but sometimes it is one small thing that determines whether or not a kid signs with a school.
