Its fun to play around with. Basically if any 3* or above were to commit today we would jump to #4.

Here it is, if anyone is interested. Just look back at team rankings to see where that team score would fall.

We probably need that 5* OT from MI to go ahead and commit. He knows MSU is the place for him.
Hopefully the Coast OT will come on too.

Played around with it a little bit. Seems like the more you add the less points each commit is worth and not sure if that's accurate. Fun to mess with though

Since there's plenty of time, it seems like the number of committments would be far less important at this point than the quality of commitments. Seems the major reason OM is currently #1 is that they have a lot of mid-level players committed.

For sure. I look more at the average rating. That tells where they really are because everyone will get their numbers.

If your overall average is say 87.50, every player you add has to be over that rating or your average will go down. If you add a 5* (95+, I believe) our ranking would jump to #4 and go up in average... or it should.

Well, yeah, that would be mathematically correct. If you have 5 players, the impact of adding one of any rating would be twice what it is if you already had 10 players ... assuming linearity and all that sort of thing, and if you're doing a strict mean.

Also assuming positions are weighted differently, otherwise every 5* punter in this hemisphere would be inundated with beautiful grove propaganda.

If the #1 recruit in the country were to commit to us, we'd still be behind #1 Ole Miss. The Rebel class is that loaded.**

QB's get a bump in rating based on position.

Meh, this early with this much evaluation, rating changes, and commitments to go, the calculator is worthless. Gotta wait for more of the data to come in before it'll actually mean something. At least August or September.

Well they did they so that ultimately once everything normalizes out, someone like OM doesn't end up #1 with 5 more commitments than everyone else, even though their avg rating is much lower. It's intended to result in balancing between quantity and quality. It's just that this early in the process, there's not enough data to be accurate.

I assume you're talking about this guy and that you're joking? Alternatively, wrong MSU man.
