Tom Mars is a fine American and looks like he will go after OM if he has to re: Shea -

"After dealing with Ole Miss for over a year," he said, "I've learned to expect their leadership to do and say things that the leadership at other Division I schools would never consider doing and to justify their actions by reminding themselves that "We're Ole Miss.""

He left off "by damn". He's got to get it right if he goes public.

I’d rather have that attitude and have Tom Mars call me out while getting off light from the NCAA, than bending over and losing a large part of Redmond’s eligibility over some trivial stuff.

The thing is Ole Miss had the option to remain neutral, which anyone with sense would have done.

But those people just can't, in any way, stand the notion that they did anything wrong.

In their heads they think everybody does just what they do, but just don't get caught.

(But hey, everybody doesn't have the Inn right up against the Grove, with every one of their recruiting obsessed jock sniffers hanging out in the lobby.)

It's not admitting anything to just let if go, but the PERCEPTION (which is what they are all about in all things) that by not fighting, looks like an admission IN THEIR MINDS.

And they just can't stand the thought of that.

It's a cult of mentality, and it always will be.
