Final Four: MSU vs Louisville

Know it is 3.5 hours away, but for those who have not watched Louisville play, here is what I gathered from watching their Elite 8 game:

Very active defensively. They overplay out front in the half court and, while they do not press per se, they pick up full court (sound familiar?). In the post defensively, they are nothing special and are susceptible to giving up post points for sure. We have to dominate here. If T plays well, she can go for 20 no doubt.

Offensively, Durr makes them go. She will be the best offensive guard we have played. Very athletic, can shoot lights out, and can get to the rim easily. Reminds me of a better and more veteran version of Chennedy Carter of aTm. I fear Morgan will not be able to defend her and we will have to go to Holmes to defend her. They have some other guards who are nice players who can spot up shoot well (sound familiar?). They space the floor well to create open looks and driving lanes, but do not have much of a post presence offensively.

Overall, they are athletic and like to push tempo, but not quite as much as Uconn. To me, they feed off their defense, which is extremely active. I think the keys, other than making shots obviously, are to outrebound them, try to somewhat contain durr, and play through T offensively.

I think us and Louisville are similar style teams. Something else I noticed throughout Vic's presser was that he and Louisville's coach talk on a regular basis. They're good friends. I think we're going to have a tough time with this squad. All of this considered, I think we squeak out the victory in the end. I'll go with a solid 6 point victory.

San Antonio has a nice domed stadium, built when they were trying to attract an NFL team but it never worked. The have a bowl game and UTSA plays there, but otherwise it's seems to be pretty much a white elephant.
