Welcome to Smashville! If you ever get a chance to head to Bridgestone, you need to. The gameday atmosphere is insane.

We went to the 4-1 loss to Carolina right before Christmas. The game sucked but it was still a blast. I'm hooked. I get every game with local package from DIRECTV. I watch most of them.

Tonight's game has been intense too. I despise Burns and Thornton for San Jose.

Really good game between two of the best teams in the NHL.

We have been winning without it but we have to get the Power Play cranked back up.

I think it'd be fun to get into but I've never watched hockey a second of my life. Sometimes I cant even follow the damn puck around. I'd be lost

HD TV has helped hockey perhaps more than any other sport. I can follow the puck on TV. At Bridgestone, not so much.

Do you remember "FoxTrax" back in the 90's? They had a chip in the puck that would create a red line so you could follow the puck.

I do, it sucked as bad as the strike zone crap espn uses for baseball.

3-3. Incredible sequence from Saros but we couldn't clear it and they tied it on the Power Play.

Saros is gonna be a great replacement for when Peks retires.

I'm a long time Penguins fan, but I do love me some smashville. It's good that I have a team in the east and the western conference.

Hoooo boy. I think this team still has one more gear. We get our PP rolling, and we'll be dangerous and primed for a deep run.

He isn't the winningest GM in NHL history for no reason.

I’ve got a lot of confidence in Robinson. But I would love for Poile to teach him his secrets when it comes to trades

Just to clarify, I wasn't throwing shade on Robinson but more loving on Poile... He's trade-raped a bunch hasn't he?

I'd second something you said early in in this thread. If you guys have never been to a game at Bridgestone you HAVE to go. We went to the absolute worst home performance of the year.....and we still had a blast. Whatever we do to the Hump we need to study Bridgestone. If we could replicate that, even at our current capacity, we would have something. We stayed downtown, we walked lower Broadway but didn't have time to partake. It looked awesome. It's the total experience. I suspect my son and I will make it a Christmas time tradition, his future work permitting. We loved it, and we were at the worst home performance of the year.

The whole management group has made it a priority to not only make the in-game experience great, but build a relationship with the bars and restaurants around the arena to build a great all-around atmosphere. This past offseason was spent doing improvements in the stadium. Everything from placement of concessions to improving the quality of the bathrooms. Add in the fact that fan involvement is at an all-time high with the Preds, and you have an amazing atmosphere for the team to feed off of. They call the fans the 7th man, and for good reason. When Bridgestone Arena is bumping, there's nothing like it elsewhere. Hell...look no further than the chant started by Cellblock 303 after every goal.

LOVE the Cell Block! The conventional wisdom here is that the lower deck has to drive the crowd. You idiots ain't never heard Cell Block 303!

My childhood team was the Chicago Blackhawks. It’s awesome that this performance was for the Hawks, but if you know what an emergency goaltender is this might be one of the all time great moments in NHL history!
