....noticed UT's starter pitcher is a left handed freshman from Ocean Springs, MS. Looks very talented and 90++ fastball. Anybody ever heard of this kid? You'd think us, OM, or USM, or even LSU would have been all over him. Last name is Crochet. Rare for a Friday/Thurs. night starter to be a freshman.....and even more rare for UT to get a good tall pitcher out of MS.

We talked about Crochet here and MSU evidently didn’t act fast enough - he was a Jones CC commit before the draft, then he was drafted, got USM love, and then UT brought him to the SEC. The kid wanted to be an SEC player.

I guess with our collection of fake pitching recruits, we felt like he was superfluous to our needs or Cann was busy with Lee Begley that week

But we pillage Tennessee for talent all the time, they were due a good Mississippian.
