Because you have to mix up your pitches. The guy could have been a first ball fastball hitter too- I don't know the scouting report on the guy- but there are reasons not to throw a fastball on the first pitch.

The best move is to get Stovall in at Catcher IMO. Move Westburg to 2nd and Foscue back to 3rd. Skelton is hitting .191 Gilbert is .217 .

Height is not that big of a deal if you have the quickness to block balls. The biggest issue with this team is WE CAN'T SCORE RUNS. I promise you, Foscue, Westburg or Allen can play 2nd base. We have to figure out a way to get another bat in the game or we are looking at 4-26 in the SEC.
