when is she allowed to join the team? Not for practices but I think it'd be a little gamesmanship to have her on our bench in street clothes when/if we face UConn in the tourney. She might be able to offer a little insight into something.

I'm pretty sure that NCAA rules will not allow her to sit on our bench, even in street clothes, until she is actually eligible to participate and play in a game. Now if a player was eligible to play, but was injured and couldn't play, then that would be a different story, and the player could be in street clothes on the bench.

She is enrolled in a community college this semester, I believe, so I would not expect her to join the team until the summer. I really wish she was eligible immediately- would really help with next year's transition year after we lose 4 of our starters.

I may be wrong on this, but won't she be able to play in January 2019, so "halfway" through next season, since she's a mid year transfer?

I seem to remember UT got a guy like this a few years ago. He transferred mid year and was eligible in January

She has to sit out the entire year next year.

She is NOT in a Community college right now and did not enroll at MSU in time for the spring semester. She will have to sit out ALL next year... and No she cannot be on the bench.

Can she come in at mid-season, or does she have to sit out the entire year? Asking because she joined our team at mid-season, so a calendar year would be mid-season next year. I have a feeling she's out the entire season though.

And do we really want to do something to piss off UConn any more than they probably already are??? We don't need to motivate them any more than they already will be, if we do indeed face them.

So you don't want to ask the UConn transfer if she can offer any insight into anything that might help us? I do. I want any advantage we can find. Maybe having her by the bench will put Geno on tilt a little.

She can be in the seats behind the bench (where a normal fan would be), but she can not be by the bench, or where any staff member or player is. I highly doubt that even if she was allowed to be on the bench (which she isn't according to NCAA rules) that would have any effect on Geno and how UConn would perform on the court. UConn hasn't won as many games as they have to let a player who has left their program upset and detract either the coach or their players from their goal of winning a game. Now a lesser program than UConn, then maybe it would.

The transfer might be able to help us somehow this season is all I am saying. Include her.

Asking her insight, sure. Putting her on the bench, no. But I'd be willing to bet Vic could tell her more about the UConn team than she could tell him.
