Pure speculation here from an unconfirmed rumor in the rumor. Don was aware of certain items on a university issued phone of the employee he brought with him. Said phone was turned back in to university upon departure to Gainesville. Don and Loafers inform the university of the items on phone and when asked Cann initially denied. Thus grounds for dismissal.

The items on phone have been sent to me as a rumor. The rest of this is speculation. The crime is almost always in the coverup.

If Stricklin would fire his new FB coach before he ever coached a game? Hell no, no AD at a place like UF can afford to mess up the FB hire that bad. Stricklin would sweep the whole thing under the rug, as would the rest of the Ath. Dep., because they understand how insanely important Football is, and how much revenue would fall if they had to name an interim
