In light of a rather slow sports day and given the talk that the 2018 MSU Women's Basketball season might be our best ever I thought it might be interesting to see what people think are our best 5 regular seasons of modern times (leaving out 2018 WBB since the season is not complete and knowing they may jump to #1). And remember, post-regular season accomplishments are NOT considered in this list. Here's mine:

1. 1989 Baseball (54-14 final record, SEC champs at 20-5, stayed at #1 in the polls most of the year)
2. 2004 Men's Basketball (26-4 final record, SEC champs at 14-2, Top 10 team most of the year with no road losses)
3. 2014 Football (10-3 final record, only regular season with 10 wins, stayed #1 in the polls for 6 weeks)
4. 2016 Baseball (44-18-1 final record, SEC champs at 21-9, worst to first turnaround from 2015)
5 1998 Football (8-5 final record but the 8-3 regular season got us our only SEC football title of any kind since 1941)

Honorable mention
1991 Men's Basketball - 20-9 final record, SEC co-champs with LSU
1999 Football - 10-2 final record and reached as high as #8 in the polls
1985 Baseball - 50-15 final record, Top 5 in the polls most of the year but finished a game behind LSU in the West during regular season
1980 Football - 9-3 final record with the iconic AL win and our only season to claim victories over AL, AUB, LSU and OM in the same year

Would be interested in other's personal list.

2014 Football, the best trivia question ever! Who was the first CFP team to be named #1 in the first CFP poll and held it for 5 weeks?

I think 1999 was better than 2014 simply because of how 2014 ended in football.

I would have to say:

1. 2013 CWS finals.
2. 2017 Women's runner-up in National Championship Game
3. 1985 CWS finished third.
4. 1996 Final Four
5. 1999 football season- the way the 2014 season ended tarnished it for me. The 1999 team won the Egg Bowl and their bowl game.

You kind of disregarded the point of the list. Its about REGULAR season accomplishments, not post-season. 2013 baseball didn't do much of anything in the regular season.
