Any of you guys read the UNM appeal. They are complaining that the NCAA didn't follow their penalty matrix! What a joke to all those involved from every angle. BTW, they will probably win against this toothless bunch.

Not sure that?s the best strategy, Cotton.

They might as well. Everything else has worked out for them.

I wouldn't actually argue with them on this, because if the COI ( not the NCAA) had followed the penalty matrix based on the documented evidence the NCAA supplied, then the OM football program would have been devastated.

Exactly! They’ve already gotten off light. What do they have to lose, by appealing?

This is me. Man y?all put that thread up about did OM or rose bowl Win?

The fact of the matter is that rosebowl aside from earning from the book lost and lost out big.

They didn?t even sniffle at the sanctions. They were a frickin joke and for anyone to say different is a damn fool. The time and effort was not worth the outcome. I wanted them wasted and 20 years behind us. But the fact of the matter is they got off easily and will not be set back by the 20 years we hoped.

No, I don?t blame them at all and I bet they get nothing out of it but a slap on the wrist and they go about their business.

I HOPE the appeals committee agrees with them and lowers the boom, but they?ll probably just lower the total penalties handed down.

Well, you gotta admit ... they're right about that. I somehow have the feeling they don't mean it the way most of us do though.

Also heard that they're going to name Mullen and Stricklin in the Rebel Rags suit? Anybody else heard that? (I read it on foom, to it could have been trolling for repost for all I know).

I hope they do. Because I think that would be an epic mistake on their part.

That's what I mean. They only want the matrix used in their favor. There is no one at the NCAA with half a brain or they would see what their spineless penalties have created. They can't slap their butt with both hands. No college should ever work with them now or in the future. Lawyer up and they will fold.

This guy said it better than me. He gets it.

The fact of the matter is that everything Rosebowl claimed they were being investigated for turned out to be true. Quit conflating the investigation with the COI's "punishment". They are two completely different things.

Please remember that Steve was being called a liar by our own fans when he
1) claimed that UM was under investigation,
2) claimed that the charges from letter #1 were worse than UM was reporting, and
3) claimed that the UM investigation wasn't over after the first letter was made public.

Steve's credibility with respect to that investigation is beyond reproach. He won big time on that.

Not debating that - you guys were called liars (and worse) during that stretch as well. My point was that he was out in front and took a beating from the UM crazies as well as our own fans and wasn't wrong about anything he claimed as a certainty. I'm not sure how anyone can think he "lost" in any of that. Craziness.

I wish fellow Elite doggers would think outside the box. In spite of the penalty matrix among other data, OM was able to skirt justice. Too many around the region keep thinking that this does not make sense to them. The reason is why regional people keep perceiving the NCAA in a certain manner inside the box instead of outside the box? When I posted my take about the OM issues, stating that it was not a slam dunk that OM was going to get hammered, fellow Elite doggers thought that I was sympathetic to OM, when in reality I was firm Miss St. I have stated that both the NCAA and OM are scum and are intimate with each other. I still would like to state to fellow Elite doggers that I believe certain OM legal team associates have personal dirt on NCAA members and have a game plan to systematically go after them ONE AT A TIME if they hammer OM. Because of this I believe that a plan of MUTUAL AIDED DESTRUCTION is on the table in case the NCAA does not see things OM's way. Black male possible? Because of the stated, I believe the appeal will be handled in the best interest of the NCAA MEMBERS and not in the name of justice.

This sounds like tinfoil hat conspiracy stuff but you aren't far off. I fully expect the appeal to be upheld and the second bowl waived. I will be pleasantly suprised if it isn't. That being said....I don't have thousands and millions to throw around for recruiting but you numbnuts that do had better get to spending because it's an arms race now.
