Ashcraft out for the season-hip surgery. James and Breaux coming back from TJ. James looked good in a short outing.

Commerce, Hatcher went 3-3 with a HR and 2 doubles in the first scrimmage. He hasn't reproduced those numbers but he has been swinging a good bat since then.

Thanks for info, Hoops. Saw him at perfect game and he had a nice fluid swing but didn?t seem to have much pop. Needed to put on a little muscle when I saw him. He?s extremely athletic and has good wheels, good arm too. I think he?s gonna be a good one. Should hit for high average and not many k?s.

What Hoops said. I'm not sure what to expect from Hatcher because he's a freshman. I think he's going to be good but I'm tempering my expectations for him.

I'm not exactly sure what the problem is other than it is his opposite hip than the one he injured last year.

Sometimes a problem with one joint, typically knee or hip will cause over compensation on the good one that leads to problems with the good one later.
