View Full Version : LSU missing on targets- O's ass in a crack

He was literally hired to be the Crooter. Slipping in recruiting is his death sentence. May be his swan song this Fall
He failed from his first press conference. He did not have any type of plan. He declared that you MUST have a dual threat quarterback to succeed (which is asinine, especially at LSU), then proceeded to miss on Keytaon Thompson in his backyard. It has been downhill ever since. He is losing significant contributors to the NFL off a 9-3 team. They have 4 near guaranteed losses on their 2018 schedule, one of which is us. I do not think he will survive losing to Georgia, us and Alabama 3 weekends in a row in Tiger Stadium.
They will fire him Sunday, November 4, 2018. It is possible they keep it quiet I guess, and then fire him after they lose at Arkansas due to morale being about the same as it was in 1999. Alleva will be tossed out too.

LSU currently has the #14 class.
That's horribly inadequate for the formula they are trying to use to win.
If they keep heading down this road, they will be attempting to win by playing Alabama style football with Texas A&M type talent.
Will be a disaster

Fisher is going to try & run a pro style 10 vs 11 offense in the SEC without elite talent

Top 5 at a Florida school with Florida and Miami being down for most of his time at FSU. He won't have it as easy now, sharing a backyard with Oklahoma and a reemerging Texas, among others.

Florida State is a top 5 recruiter. Jimbo is a good recruiter.
He won't recruit at the same level at A&M as he did at FSU & will be playing against more talented teams with a pro-style offense in which he refuses to run the QB.
He'll bust

Seems you just crossing your fingers and hoping if you say it enough, it will be true.
Four years prior to jimbo, FSU did not crack top 10. Jimbo has finished outside the top 5 3 times (#6, #10, and #11) in 9 years.

Jimbo will recruit. We'll see what he does with those recruits tho. He does get some character challenged guys at times. I do believe he'll have TAM playing some solid, more consistent ball myself. It's a step up from Sumlin IMO

Aint nobody scared of Jimbo.
Except for the natty year (which im not downplaying) you could argue that he underachieved at FSU. Oregon beat them like a drum the next year and they constantly had to come from behind to beat teams that had nowhere close to the ''talent level'' they had

Agree to disagree.
Jimbo will recruit well at A&M, but he won't turn them into a powerhouse.
He'll be facing more talent with less talent than he did at FSU & trying to do it with an antiquated offense.
I'm not crossing my fingers. I have actually reasons why I think he'll be meh at A&M.

If Jimbo signs primarily Texas high school talent he won't do much better than Sumlin.

LSU just landed JMarr Chase the 4/5 star WR from Rummell.
He was down to Auburn & LSU & I'm glad he chose LSU. Would rather these 5 star WRs go to LSU where there is no QB or offensive scheme than go to Auburn where Gus knows how to use them.

Sorry I forgot to add AVERAGE class. since 2000 their average recruiting class is 6.47. Still think you're giving Jimbo more credit for what he's worth.
According to Bartoo only 2 other schools have done that this century. LSU and USCw

Being up there and being there are 2 different things. as much as I hate Clay Travis here's a link to let you know what it takes to win a natty with regards to recruiting.
https://www.outkickthecoverage.com/12-teams-can-win-national-title-2018/
Paints a pretty good picture of what he has to do to compete for a Natty aka winning the SEC. When he gets 2 inside the top ten within 4 years Ill be worried.

We will see. Since he got there, he stole a qb from FSU and LSU and stole an ol from Oklahoma in this class. He has also got 2 4* and a 5* for 2019. aTm has 4th best 2019 class... granted, early

Two out of 10 years not bad. For six years they were 1, then went to 2, then went to 4 and now at 9. Is this a trend of what's to come? I wonder is Georgia hurting them?

Texas A&M is gonna get frustrated and **** up the whole thing. It'll take Jimbo awhile to be level with the top teams in the SEC and I don't think Aggie fans will have the patience necessary. They expect to be Bama all of a sudden. Doesn't work like that. Jimbo ain't Saban. Not even close. He may be a top 10 current coach but he isn't arguably the greatest coach of all-time like Saban.

It took Saban a couple of years at Bama to get things right, and that's BAMA. If you recall, Saban took losses to Louisiana Monroe and our old friend croom.
Personally, I think Jimbo is going to kill it in recruiting just like Sumlin did, and they are going to be soft as hell just like they were under Sumlin. Texas high school football is all spread and finesse, and it doesn't translate well to the SEC. I honestly believe this has been A&M's problem the last few years, although they wouldn't admit it.

A&M's problem is on D most of the time. When JWS was there, they won with a great D and running game, just like when he was at MSU. Sumlin could move the ball most years, but his D was soft as Charmin.
