I looked at team stats on HailState a few minutes ago. Unless I read it incorrectly, we have shot about 1200 shots of which about 450 are threes. I wish we would try more two's. Howland states that he is still trying to get them to be more patient with shot selection. Maybe tonight is the night of two great halves of team ball and we even break out of the 3 pt shot drought. Why do we bring in Carter, Datcher, X, and Wright so soon? Our so-called starters don't even play together 6 minutes to begin a game. If you've got s "starting nine" and have scored 8 whole points on your home court with under 12 to go, doesn't look like a SEC team to me. Heck, doesn't look like a team period.

Last season, herard showed flashes of being a pretty good big. He actually came back worse this season. I think ado is a potential really good player, but we cannot trust him with whoever worked with herard. I have heard Brooks is our big guy coach... he needs to be fired tonight... hell, halftime... could not even get his own kid

Peters is our best PG. Nick has to get much better offensively but if he just makes point blank layups we are up by 4 right now. But I agree that was our bad half and we showed signs of life at the end of the first half. Have to come out and wear them down in the second half. Also, have to get in front of Robinson and make his threes guarded and uncomfortable. He hit two wide open three point shots one of our guards didn’t get out to guard him.

Amen! Big difference when he breaks down a defense and distributed the ball. Makes us very dangerous as opposed to dribble and pass around the perimeter and then shoot 3s. Liked what I saw tonight.

We shot 54.7% from the field. Only took 16 shots from beyond the arc and made 37.5% (Not great...but I'll take the low volume), and shot 71.4% from the charity stripe.

Assist to turnover ratio was 17-15, which isn't great. If we can lower that turnover count to single-digits, I'd be happy.

Great win and we played our best half in the second half. Man Ado looked like a different player in the second half. If we can continue to grow, we will be a bubble team and a shoo in for the NIT. More importantly we can make Peters happy because he’s starting and buying into his role. This team is fun to watch when we play together and play as a team. 3-1 in the SEC at home. If we can steal one at South Carolina, we can get on a four or so game win streak and our season looks completely different.

Well I'd like him to stay and finish his senior season here. If he'd just focus on rebounding, playing tough defense and throwing down some heart crushing dunks a few times a game he'd be a good player for us. His best path to pro ball is here at MSU with Howland's connections. Just buy in and play hard and stop trying to be Michael Jordan. Stapleton can get a look in pro ball off his dunking ability alone but he needs to play scrappy tough ball and get MSU deep in the tourney to get noticed. He throws down some disgusting dunks in the elite-8 he'll get his chance in the G-League or overseas. Needs to be a leader and help get us there first though. Transferring elsewhere is a mistake imo. Not my life or decision to make though.

We’ve got pieces to replace any defections. If Stapleton or Wright leave, Woodard is a talented enough piece to get both their minutes then we would have a spot for the 6’10 JUCO Center that will help out Ado off the bench. If Peters leaves, we will sign Tyler Harris the four star from Memphis who is very underrated. IMO, I’d love for Peters to give us one more year us sign Tyler Harris as the PG of the future and if Wright/Stapleton transfer no skin off our backs and we sign five kids. That would set us up for one of the most talented teams we’ve ever had at MSU next year.

I like Peters, the issue is he was just young and "king" of the past teams he played on. Now he seems to be settling in.

X is taking better shots from 3, now he just needs to learn that whenever he has the urge to take a turn-around fadeaway from midrange, he needs to pass instead, every time. I hope he doesn't transfer because I think he is valuable in terms of channeling energy and effort.

Stapleton has already transferred and sat out a year...I don't think he can sit another year unless he gets a medical exception or graduates and doesn't have to sit. I guess he could go to a D2 school, but I don't see that happening unless he gets processed.
