I want to say Gil Meche went to Barbe, so probably is some relation. Also Barbe is a powerhouse in Louisiana high school baseball, they are always winning it all.

Barbe is the best baseball program in Louisiana and consistently top 10 in the country. Just look at the D1 players and draftees they have had over last 25 years. State might be only school in SEC West that hasn?t had someone from Barbe on their roster.

Glen Cecchini is considered one of the top high school coaches in the country. He was head coach of Team USA for a season or two.

This is a pipeline we need to be in.

FYI, last Barbe game I attended they lost.....to current MSU pitcher Kale Breaux.

Meche can play. I've coached against and my son has competed against him since he was 8 in travel ball. Had some knockdown drag out games. Played one of the greatest games I've ever seen in youth baseball when they were 10 in Baton Rouge. 3-2 game we won in 9 innings. Both teams played flawless. Anyway sorry for the tangent, I get excited when I see kids i've coached or coached against being successful. He's a good one.

Coached and my son played on Mississippi Surge until last year. My son is now playing with 59 Baseball out of Hattiesburg, Matt Millers organization
