I don't understand why many think he's such a good coach. Sure he beat some teams at Ole Miss, but he also bought the team. With honest recruiting I doubt he'd do very well.

And set the program back at least 3 years in the process...

That's probably one of the main reasons people assume he would come back as an OC. I agree- in reality he's not a good coach. But people may feel like he can add something to their offense especially if they want to add a no huddle element to it.

The recruiting is another reason why a lot of people wouldn't want him as a head coach. He's either going to cheat and get you on probation or he's probably not going to do well. Add in the escorts and it's not worth the risk for a Middle Tennessee State type school. I'm sure schools are well aware of his other escapades at other places he has been at as well.

I'm not sure where he ends up- it could very well be Northwest Mississippi CC.

Freeze received an NCAA investigation when he was at Om Before along with sancations. He may end up as head coach at Jjcc with ole Barney. Why would any D1 school want the NCAA in their house?

To Joe Public, the lackluster NCAA sanction imply Freeze wasn?t bending the rules much more than everybody else. I know better, but that?s why many think he?ll get another job.

His offense was fairly effective with a few playmakers and large holes and qb's that aren't exactly going to be admitted to MENSA.

In reality, their good teams relied more on their defense, and I suspect a lot of OC's would look good if you gave them the string of WRs Ole Miss has had going back to Moncrief. But I get why people would be interested. I suspect he would immediately make LSU much better on offense, although maybe over the course of a few years he makes them worse by killing their running game and identity.

Hugh freeze would cost LSU aranda. No way aranda would stay and let that non-stop go, go, go offense ruin his stock.

His voice was audibly shaking when he talked about telling his wife and kids about his ?personal problems ?. Which btw, he says he told guys at church and his wife before the news ever broke.

As for the NCAA investigation and the allegations, he sounded like they all do to me. It was much to do about a few infractions by a couple of people on his staff. I forget the exact phrase he used but something about all the NCAA found was a couple coaches that worked for him had improperly allowed booster involvement.

He accepted the fact he broke some NCAA rules but gave me the impression that he felt
Like they did nothing but minor rule violations.

My impression of the interview as a whole, the way Travis framed a few questions, it was a ?I?m sorry? piece to get back in coaching.

Well...based on the NCAA sanctions they WERE minor violations....

So all the calls he made were for him? And not for recruiting players? If they were for personal ... use ... is that a firable offense? Maybe since it's illegal, but it's probably not a felony.

All those media guys talk big til it comes down to the actual interview. Then they're very polite. He'd probably be nice to Kim Jon Un.

Yeah, the last few weren't mental giants were they? Especially Kelley.

Did you see the guy from Miami? Great FB player and had something like a 3.98 GPA. Must've made one B along the line somewhere. Miami's not an easy school either. I think his major was something like general business, but still, all A's is all A's, and at an elite private school is even more.

This interview felt deeper than that---it was a fluff piece that sounded paid for. Questions were like they were choreographed. The Sexton angle is something I hadn't thought of but something was certainly amiss. There are too many people that know too much for this to have just been a nice gesture on the part of Clay Travis.

Does Tennessee have an OC yet? Could be warming their fans up for it. I could see Pruitt being sympathetic towards Freeze because they had similar career paths starting out as high school coaches on TV/movies. Plus it seems to me that Tennessee is trying to take over Memphis and push Ole Miss out of there. They've got DeVinner on their side right now. Freeze probably still has a lot of ties there.

His firing would depend on the verbiage of his contract. If there is a clause "not to bring disgrace upon the university" then he's gone.

If all the calls were for him. Then WHY is there a picture floating of a recruit?

Yeah, I've seen that.

Actually, Freeze making the calls for himself would bring honor on the school instead of disgrace. :) **
