I really didn't notice any drop off with him replacing rankin. I think 7's boy Hev may have finally signed us a big time left tackle out of high school before he left. Love the irony.

Our 2018 OL has a chance to be better than it's been in a really long time.

Really? What says that about him other than size?

Eiland played about half the games this season when rankin was out hurt and we didn?t miss a lick. Eiland is good.

Tell you what, go look at his blocking grades and how many sacks he gave up as a Redshirt Freshman. You do that and you will know why he is going in the NFL.

And I think Reese is a potential NFL guy too on the other side. Lower ceiling, but still good. Best OL we've had since I can remember.

The fact that he is as good as Rankin who will be a NFL draft pick as a redshirt freshman. He's only going to get better and better.

Guys we have 2 young Sherrods right now. I thought that Eiland played better than Rankins.

I wonder if the new coach will move Reese to guard eventually. Maybe not next year. But we do lose Calhoun and Jenkins and it makes me wonder what we do going forward with that. Champion and Dolla Bill are four star guys out of high school and Champion will be a senior in 2019. We also have Tyre Phillips who I have heard has progressed at OT after being in JUCO for a year.

Maybe 2019 will look something like:

LT- Eiland
LG- Reese
C- Williams
RG- Champion
RT- Phillips/Dolla Bill

Also- Michael Story could figure in at C or OG if I had to guess as well. And yes, I know 2019 is a long way off.

I think so too. Both played well but I think Eiland played a tad better. Eiland got a high ceiling.

I met Eiland last year. Knew right away that if he had technique to go with that size and frame, he would be as good as we’ve ever had at OT.

Dolla Bill will be an incredible player for us one day, but he is a good 2 or 3 years away from that.

Jenkins will go pro as well. Hope we can have him back at OG in 2018. He’s fast and athletic for his size. Also like that Williams and Reese play with a chip on their shoulders, they have promising futures.
