For you football guys:

Who is the perfect coach for this game & what type of coach does Mississippi need to have to be consistently better in this game?

This year Lance Mancuso from Jefferson Davis HS (Fomerly Bassfield) is the coach & I just wonder if a small school coach is the best choice?

I really have no idea what type of coach is best at putting together a functional unit in a week of practice.

If you guys were in charge of putting together the MS team, what type of coach would you target?

Since the strengths & weaknesses of the roster can change from year to year due to the state talent level, I wish there was a way to evaluate the roster & pick a coach that has the best offense to fit the talent. That would seem to maybe be a little complicated though

If all we did was make sure we got the best players in this game regardless of division/classification, we'd be consistently better. AL always has that advantage because they don't enforce that silly restriction. Majority of their best players are in this game, while the MS squad always has at least 3-5 kids a year that should be there but aren't. I know that doesn't answer your question but in my opinion, the coach selected to the game has less effect than having a less talented team every year.

AL has 2 million more people in the state, with similar demographics. They'll always have more talent. Talent is always going to rule this game, since they only practice for a week.

Sort of a microcosm of the football programs too. If State and Ole Miss want to be similar to Alabama and Auburn, we need more population growth in the state, or get rid of one of the programs (come on NCAA).
