Hugh’s offense was so good at OM he had to hire Longo. Hugh is vastly overrated.

I do not understand the thinking he will be a good OC. He sucked. He cheated. He got the best players that money could buy. He ran bubble screens then just chunked it deep to those paid receivers. Zero player development. I don't get it.

Have they hired a HC yet?

....I find it a bit odd they'd be making OC plans prior to that, yes?

sounds like bull shit.

It'd be a disaster hire for Tennessee PR wise but it'd be a good hire for Pruitt who probably knows about as much about running an offense as he does about asparagus

Tennessee isn't pursuing Freeze as OC it's rumored that Pruitt wants to bring Freeze with him. Pruitt is about to get hired as Tennessee's head coach it appears.

Yep. Get a bunch of 4 star WR's that are 6'3" or taller and throw it up. Odds are you'll hit one of three.

I think this one is pretty simple to answer. Since Hugh is currently unemployed there are only 2 active coachs that have beaten Saban twice. Mark Richt (once at LSU and once at Bama) and Urban Meyer. That's it. Freezus was the third.

Freeze clipped MDL 2x more due to an alignment of stars than to genius coaching, IMO...

Of course, that's the case with most Saban losses, IMO...

First time Freeze won it was a legit W, second one was good fortune and 5 Bama turnovers but in fairness they did choke a big lead on Bama his last year there too. It coulda easily been 3 wins over Saban. If Pruitt hires Freeze that's a homerun hire for him imo and Freeze taking the fall for Ole Miss would work exactly as they hoped it would. Freeze gets an OC job making 7 figures in less than a year from having a smoking gun planted on him by OM to take the fall. All that said it sounds like Tennessee fans are saying Freeze isn't gonna get hired as OC.

The 1st win was certainly “more legit”, however, they had to have a defensive score to win, those are rare vs Bammer. I think Urban/OSU beat us in the 14CFP similarly... iirc.

I guess you could paint that Ohio State bama playoff game that way. Personally I think Ohio State?s 42 carries for 281 yds (6.69 per carry) tells the real reason by the buckeyes won

IKR? It’s telling when ya need a pick 6 to beat a team you’re running over, anyway.*

I see the sarcasterisk. Hard to argue though. Zeke had 20 carries for 230 yards and 2 TDs. 11.5 ypc vs Bama D.

Better be glad that tOSU didn't have Freezus as OC*

Let's see how Freeze's recruting is without an OM Booster type "heppin".

Dude went beast mode. That ~90 run was a bitch.

Bammer’s Achilles heel was/continues to be injuries to signal calling MLB & 3rd freaking down (offensively)...

I wouldn't think that. He has a recent history of lying to recruits which is causing a mass exodus in Oxford. The faith pitch is damaged because of the hookers. His best recruiting days are behind him.

Well, he was certainly part of the machine. He was the face of the program and played the uber Christian good ol boy that your Mom would want her son to play for. I'm sure he gave the guys with money names of prospects as well- if not one of his assistants so that the boosters would know who to get an in with.

Yep

For you younger chaps, Tenn. was the one that everybody always said, "how did they get this guy or that guy?" very similar to OM in the 80's and 90's. (and in OM's case, the 80's, 90's, 00s, and '10's)

It, OM, and Auburn are the ones from that time that everybody else knew went a good bit further than the rest

Yep. I did a 12 yr stint in Memphis while the phat phil train was running and eventually got the natty. their recruiting during that era was Nationally sick and there were always rumors about how they were doing it. I'd bet the farm they were cheating big time. REAL big.
