Yep. Stansbury regularly lost the type of games Stephen F. Austin, Jacksonville St., and Dayton were. Howland has gotten the job done 3 out of 3 times so far this year.

Howland is doing the right things to beat zones. We've come close in some games because good shooters have been missing wide open shots at a statistically improbable rate, which we seem to be slowly pulling out of.

We actually did pretty decent against the zone in the early part of the game. We were getting into the teeth of it and collapsing it. Once we went up by 21 we just went full retard.

Very few teams can just roll out an affective 1/3/1 . Kind of like Syracuse’s match up zone. If it was so easy to teach and play everyone would run it.

Don't get me wrong. I'm hyped to have Howland and I think we are capable of doing great things. We have superior talent and year 3 is supposed to be the "magic" year. I grew up going to every game in the height of our glory years, so I know i'm spoiled, but I remember those teams, their chemistry, and the intangibles that led to success. All that being said, we have consistently looked undisciplined and a lot more like a glorified AAU team with a bunch of scorers than an NCAA tournament team. Call me when we beat a ranked team.

We will stop hearing about Stansbury when we finally get back to the level we were at that got Stansbury fired. People still talked about Sherrill even after Croom was here because Croom sucked. Mullen made us forget about Sherrill/Croom. And I think, eventually, Howland will make us forget about Stansbury/Ray.

And the fact that that team didn't make the NCAA is the reason Stansbury was fired. He was a bad coach at the end. It's over. Move on and support the team we have now.

NCAA and media had grown very tired of Stansbury's "act". It was getting more and more difficult for his teams to even make the tourney because of this bias. Remember the year we barely lost to Kentucky in the SECT the NCAA left us out the tournament despite being 23-11. Same thing happened to us his last year despite winning 21 games. It was time to part ways with Stansbury. We really didn't have much of a choice especially when he refused to fire any assistant coaches.
