For the Will Redmond ordeal. 2 scholarships, 18 game suspension. This was for 1 violation, one. I get Redmond lied, but GD. 1 coach, 1 booster

3 years Probation, 13 scholarships for 21 violations. 6 coaches, 12 boosters, and coaches and boosters lied.

Hate to rehash, but the investigators must be really pissed at the COI. I bet they were expecting more also.

Who is the law firm that represented OM and pretty much all the big schools? Lightfoot or whatever... I am starting to believe they are like the lawyer you pay a large sum bc he has the judge in his back pocket

It sure seems as though the fix was in here. We would be VERY naive to think that this type of thing doesn’t happen. Especially when something like this happens. Very unusual.

That's what pisses me off most. That and the fact that Leo and Kobe got shit on and sued for nothing. NCAA is a joke with zero consistency. Burn that matrix. You obviously aren't going to use it.

I get that the NCAA punished all the coaches fairly harshly except Freeze. Maybe that is to send a message to all assistant coaches that it is not worth it. Not sending much of a message to boosters with the lack of scholarship reductions.

It is my understanding the the COI hands down penalties. The NCAA just investigates and recommends penalties.

Me Too! This is such ****ing BS I am just going to say we and all other sec teams just got shit on by the NCAA.

I would like someone to make the comparison with USC, too. I thought their violations were less than OM and they got slapped with a loss of 30 schollies(what someone on this board said). If so, then the COI screwed this one royally.

Well we were hit more harshly though because we actually cooperated with the NCAA.***

USC was hit with 2 year bowl ban and 30 scholarships over 3 years. All over Reggie Bush. Not sure how many penalties or if coaches were involved.

Bush was paid by sports agents not boosters.

So says the Google

With 15 or so level 1s, this should have been a minimum for OM. NCAA can wipe their butt with paper that matrix was printed on. Pisses me off they let them get away with only losing 13.

And the audacity to appeal the 2nd yr bowl ban.

Well, if we ever are accussed of violating NCAA rules we need to hire that law firm instead of over sanctioning ourselves next time.

I thought we self imposed all that and the NCAA accepted it.

We did, and they tacked on an extra year suspension for Redmond.

I wish I could understand it. Simply does not add up based on other cases.
