Otherwise knowing how hard it is to get caught these days it was totally worth the risk on their part. Let's be honest everybody pays players it's just that when your aren't a Top 10 school you have to pay a little more which draws more attention.
They could have changed 1-2 things like not recruiting Tunsil and i don't know if they ever get caught and if you can avoid being caught for 3-5 years you establish yourself as a winning program and now you have to pay standard rates for players and everybody expects you to keep recruiting good.
Worst case you end up caught and end up back where you were to begin with
