That is a very light punishment for such an extensive case that was ruled as LOIC. If this is the precedent being set it’s time for folks to start kicking in some duffel bag money. 13 scholly’s is nothing. Hell, Mullen had underrecruited and kept us about at that. Looks like maybe you could rack up 3-4 Level 1’s and only lose a handful of scholly’s and maybe a year of probation. That would actually be well worth it to win an SEC champ and maybe get in the playoffs.

So they cited LOIC and that quote and give them a reduction of 13 scholarships.

What a Fn joke. Their cigar boys can bank roll 13 scholarships easy.

It’s back to the salt mine boys. Those recruits ain’t going to flip themselves.

It's 13 total. They got off very light. The NCAA is done. Its the wild west now.

. Scholarship reductions: Mississippi has reduced, and shall reduce, football grants-in-aid by
greater than 15% as outlined below:
Academic year 2015-16: Overall reduction: 1; Initial reduction: 0
Academic year 2016-17: Overall reduction: 2; Initial reduction: 3
Academic year 2017-18: Overall reduction: 6; Initial reduction: 4
Academic year 2018-19: Overall reduction: 4; Initial reduction: 3
Totals: 13 grants overall, 10 initial grants. (Self-imposed.)

This is a joke. How the hell do they go harder in USC than ole miss. It makes no sense

Goodness gracious. This is ridiculous. LOIC and a culture of cheating and they get a 13 scholly reduction. And Freeze knew of all the cheating and only gets a 2 game suspension. The NCAA is a total fu**ing joke.

they seriously balked because of the fear of being sued. They have no testicles.

And Vitter announced that they are going to appeal the additional bowl ban. They've already punked the NCAA, and now they are going to rub salt in the wound.

Ole Miss officials say they'll appeal postseason ban for 2018. "The additional postseason ban is excessive and does not take into account the corrective actions that we have made in personnel, structure, policies and processes to address the issues."

The NCAA is a dying, toothless tiger at this point. They are only trying to hang on to their revenue stream until they die and are replaced

I had a feeling that some how, some way, those slimy bastards would skate.

Total BS. I have no words.

If there is not a mass exodus of current players this us a 17ing speed bump.

Prediction. 2021 UMiss signs a top 12 class. This will only encourage the Network to business as usual. It will also encourage recruits to take money and illegal benefits. The matrix calls for a minimum of 40+ iirc. How do they get 13?

The ONLY thing I can conceive of is the NCAA is setting them up to catch them at again because of what I said above, knowing they won't quit.

Is it also possible there is a third NOA and this is just to get things going?

I hate watching my favorite sport die like this.

Amazing.. and even more amazing that Freeze threw the entire staff, OM boosters and administration under the bus.
Wonder how the Freeze sheep feel now.

Is this the punishment for both NOA?s?

OM got off easy and Freeze got off even easier. That might be their real punishment. They defended him throughout the whole process only to have him turn on them.

Basically, the NCAA took a case that included 15 Level I violations (which the COI agreed all happened) and turned it into a Level I Standard case against the institution. Basically what that means from here on out is that if you’re going to cheat a little, you might as well cheat a lot.

Get ready for open season.
