Well, they should be glad for someothing going their way. Even if it's more than a slap on the wrist, they should be pretty thrilled if the 24 number is right (and it lets them count what they already "imposed") and the bowl ban is just for one more year. Even if the bowl ban is for two more years, they still have a chance to convince players not to transfer and in theory could make it pretty manageable.

Otherwise, this is nothing. 2 or 3 down years, tops. And Hugh Freeze called over 200 hookers for recruits! This is almost worst case scenario. It's ok to admit it.

It's financially painful, but if players don't have free transfer (which is still an open question?), it's not something that really hurts them that bad going forward. If you're looking to sign with them as a freshman, do you care that you might not be eligible for the bowl you might get into as a 6 or maybe 7 win team in 2018?

I would think you'd care much more about how good you'd be as a sophomore, junior, and senior. 19 additional scholarships (if that's what it works out to) might scare you, but it doesn't look like something insurmountable.

I just totally disagree. Their last recruiting class was crap and this one is ranked in the 70's. Transfers. They are going to hurt awhile.

One thing I've been thinking about is how much their behavior throughout this process is going to hurt them going forward with crooting.

They said 9 over 3 years. Instead they got 13 over 4 years.

Hell they self imposed 11 over 4 years, but instead they got 13 over 4 years. Sure the bowl ban hurts them this year, but their recruiting class this year is shit. Next year they won't be dealing with much restrictions at all, just 4 more scholarships moving forward. That is not a crippled program, its a wounded one, up to Coach Moor to finish them off.
