The King of Tuddies: The Statistical Impact of Joe Moorhead at Penn State and the Amazing things Mississippi State can expect from him.
2015: 7-6 (Last year under Hackenberg, former 5 star commit, and former OC John Donovan)
Offense: 301 points (23.2 points per game) [101st out of 128]
Hackenberg: 2,525 yards passing, 7.0 YPA, 16 TD's, 6 INT's He threw for 300 yards ONCE the entire season and was held below 156 yards passing SEVEN (7) times. (And Sackenberg also had 66 carries for -80 yards)
Barkley: 1,237 yards from scrimmage and 8 TD's
2016: 11-3 (Hello Moorhead and McSorley, 3 star prospect most only wanted as a defensive safety)
Offense: 526 (up 255 points from previous season), 37.6 ppg (21st out of 128)
McSorley: 3,614 Passing yards, 9.3 YPA, 29 TD's, 8 Int's while also rushing for 146 yards and 7 TD's.
Barkley: 1,898 from scrimmage and 22 touchdowns.
2017
Offense: 499 points (No bowl game yet), 41.6 ppg (7th out of 130)
McSorley: 3,228 passing yards, 8.4 YPA, 26 TD's, 8 int's while completing 66% of his passes and running for 11 TD's.
Barkley: 1,728 from scrimmage with 19 TD's.
With Joe Moorhead as PSU OC, Penn State has broken or tied over 10 school records as well. I can go on and on about how great of a hire he is but I slacked off enough for one day writing this. I now have a 2nd team to root for in the SEC and a secondary flair to rock. Clanga on Joe and have fun MSU fans making punny game day signs about wanting "Moorhead" and all that... It's a blast! Trust me lol.
But if he can do these things at Penn State just imagine the success he can have with a QB like Fitz and the strong recruiting roots that he can tap into down south. Other SEC teams should be worried :)
