just mentioned that we hired a search firm to hire the football coach. Is that correct? Thought Cohen and company did it in house

It could've been done last year or after the mullen to Miami fiasco. Nothing wrong with getting a firm to go out and develop a list of potential coaches. Heck the way Mullen been shopping himself around the last 5-6 years it would be prudent to do this.

We need to keep Sexton away from our program. Before too long, we'll have trading deadlines for coaches how he's working.

It was mentioned else where that we used the one out of Atlanta. What's the big deal? It was still Cohen calling the shots.

I’m sure a search firm was used some. Be dumb not to, but Cohen made the final decision and talked to all of the candidates. Search firms typically vett initial applicants and gauge interest, then the administration has to make the final hire. As quickly as we were conducting interviews (Sunday night/Monday morning), we had already done our homework and had our shortlist.

Heck most everyone uses a search firm to find and vett potential hires. Cohen did the heavy lifting. And as always finebaum can kiss my butt. His opinion means nothing to me its why i don't watch him.

If we did, it was to expedite the search.

The interviews were conducted at a search firm in Atlanta, that is about it for using one. We might have paid a few thousand to use their facilities.

I thought every major university did....

If UT isn't then they need to fire their AD posthaste. I'm director of a very small organization and we use a search firm.

Notice you don?t see John Cohen doing interviews with that SOB - we should all follow his lead and ignore him.

Search firms are also used to vet candidates as well, background checks, etc.

This is what we used it for to speed up the process.

Sorry, didn't mean it to sound like that. Cohen said he reviewed a lot of information so I would imagine that the search firm compiled at least some of that for him.

Paul is salty because his alma mater is too busy painting rocks to find a coach and lil ole MSU made it look easy.

Maybe Paul visits the same stripper that broke the news to the other board?

I think ol paul is pissed cause his university is a dumpster fire and Cohen hit a HR with a coach that doesn't have paul and lateral moves boy sexton as an agent.

Should have made it part of the contract. "If you hire Sexton after signing this contract you owe us 10 Million dollars."
