My wife called the Lodge and they said they do not sell jerseys with a current player's number on it because the school won't allow it.
My daughter wants a Fitz jersey for Christmas. I see a Guice jersey at walmart with his name and number on it so looks like this is a school by school thing. Does anyone know if this is correct for MSU? And if so, how to get around it? I'm assuming I'm not the first person to come across this issue, so there has to be a way around it. Can you buy a blank jersey from the school and have someone put the name and number on it? Has anyone else done this?

You're correct. To keep from having players complain about the schools making money off of them and their likenesses, they now only make jerseys with that season's year on it. I think it started with the 2015 season which worked out to be Dak's number anyway. I'm not aware of a way around it but there might be one.

You can order a custom jersey. Or at least you could a few years ago.
