It's the night of September 29th, 2018.

Mississippi State (4-0) and Florida (4-0) are facing off in Davis Wade Stadium for a nationally anticipated match up. After 3 quarters of play and a brief "Downtown Louisvilleeeeeeee", the familiar sound of a piano intro begins to echo across the stadium. For a second everything seems as it has been for the past several years, Dan Mullen on the sidelines of Scott Field as the drunkest (arguably, sorry Catholics), largest and loudest choir in the country are anxiously waiting to sing along to Don't Stop Believing.

However, things are different this go round. This is Journey's final encore in the House that Mullins expanded, and most undoubtedly the most spirited of them all. As the phone lights simultaneously come on across the stadium, and the piano intro leads into the first verse, Dan slowly looks around the stadium that he once called home, and the people that he once called "family" singing his favorite song one last time. As his glare drifts upon the end zone student section that he built, then up to the Scoreboard Club that he built, and finally to the Second Jumbotron that he built, he locks eyes with a close up, live feed, of none other than himself. After the cameraman pans down from Mullins face for a brief second, revealing his khaki shorts(yes, you better 17in believe that arrogant prick will be wearing shorts) and Yeezes, the picture pans back up, while zooming in, once again on Dan's face. As Dan soaks in this humbling mockery, he glances down to the bottom line of the Jumbotron, he snaps back to reality as he realizes that he is getting his ass waxed by not only his former employer, but also another top 10 team.

As Dan begins to turn around in utter disgust and disbelief, he vaguely glances up to the Jumbotron one last time with a grin so shit eating, that it would make the Two Girls and a Cup video clip(proceed with caution blue hairs, seriously) look like a Orbit Gum infomercial. Finally, as the song continues to build towards it's inevidable climax and the stadium and it's residents collectively ready to burst into the Chorus that we once enjoyed as a "family", the Jumbotron audio and video simultaneously and abrubtly cuts, as the crowd takes the mic to perform a solo as one "family", not to please a narcissistic ass hole coach and his gimmicky little ideas, but to rather say goodbye. Good bye after good bye, with each good bye having it's own reason while ultimately leading towards one collective GOOD BYE, that we all need whether we will admit it to ourselves or not.

-Good bye to Mullins.
-Good bye to Scott.
-Good bye to Don't Stop Believing.
-Good bye to a coach that wanted so badly to say goodbye, but couldn't find the words as he snuck off in the middle of the night.
-Good bye to gimmicky bull shit sayings, "traditions", and so much more.
-Good bye to a coach that would bitch to the AD about not being able to pay for top dollar assistants, while not offering to trim his salary so that it could happen.
-Good bye to a coach that couldn't keep around the assistants that deserved to stay, and couldn't say goodbye to those that should've been forced to leave.
-Good bye to a coach that year in and year out begged for better fan support, but couldn't make it through a successful season without allowing his name to be publicly floated around for any and every potentially open P5 position.
-Good bye to a coach that elevated our status, and could've been a name that Mississippi State fans would hold dear to their hearts for decades to come, regardless of whether he left or not, had he just left respectively.
-Good bye to sitting more talented underclassmen in favor of less talented upperclassmen.
-Good bye to TSUN
-Good bye to T17erDS
-Good bye to the Mullins glass ceiling
-Good bye to anything and everything Dan Mullins

As the 4th quarter begins, the crowd's phone lights are still waving good bye, as their voices echo their hands. The crowd continues until after the 1st play of the 4th quarter, as the crowd says a final goodbye to a quarterback draw up the middle on 3rd and 13 while trailing by 3 scores.

Closure and revenge, no better medicine to get over a selfish cheater ex girlfriend, not to mention the fact that our rebound's rack might just be a little more perky, at worst, than Dana's saggy ole tits. Good bye Dana, you crusty ole bitch!!

Once again. I don’t get the hate and never will. Also once again, if you REALLY want to get under his skin, ignore him. I’ve known people like him. They like attention. They want it to be about them. He won’t mind the negative attention at all.

To me, the instant, obsessive hate-fueled fan fiction feels like "can't let go" middle school drama. The ideal response is keep what is working, keep what is fun, change what isn't working, and move forward with the business of winning the West... a goal *much less lofty now than it was in 2008.

Hail State.

Maybe that's because you are a salmon swimming upstream with every single topic ever. You shower with Head & Shoulders Troll shampoo. People will eventually chill on Don Marlins and be thankful for what shape he left us in but it's gonna take us winning games and knowing we are ok first for that to happen. Not 4 days after he dicked out on the team without so much as a meeting. Can't believe he did Fitz dirty like that.
