Seems the players loved him, but he wasn't exactly Mr. Popular among other coaches and staff

Sounds like Pruitt is a coach who pushes his coaching staff just as hard as he pushes his players.

The weirdest thing to me was that he got the pick the OL coach at one point. Why in the world would you let the DC pick the OL coach?

None of this was meant to be anti-pruitt btw. I just remember hearing that he and Richt didn't get along and was curious what the beef was. Figured others would be interested as well. Notable quote from the old Tupelo safety that loved him

Players seemed to love him though, just not the coaches.

Right was pretty damn complacent in his last few years at UGA and Pruitt came in and wanted to shake things up and do things differently. He and Richt clashed and they made Pruitt the fall guy even those their O stunk when Chubb got hurt.

I always called Richt, Jesus Mullen. Because neither seemed to care sometimes but Richt was a bible thumper.

Pruitt tried to implement the Saban way at UGA while Richt had his way of doing things. Listen to the Wolken interview from this morning on OOB. They talk about this very thing. I look at it as a positive and Pruitt trying to implement a process he knew worked. I think Pruitt would be hugely successful here.

Kind of sounds like when Intense Bastard got here and shook things up. Coaches used to half ass recruiting wouldn't have lasted under Cohen.

Could you imagine Cohen working for Polk? IB might have choked him out when Polk asked "did he come to our camp?"

Georgia fans like Pruitt still and they credit him for getting them an IPF. Apparently he got very vocal about it being a necessity.
