to the New Orleans area schools? If he hasn't left the new HC hopefully keeps him. And Oh yeah before it's too late better lock up Cohen and put an enormous buyout on his contract.

Let see, all the Yankees that have come into the SEC and been able to recruit
Saban (at 2 schools)
Miles
Mullen (and yes, by our historic comparison, Mullen could recruit)
Meyers
Donnan

This isn't 19 freaking 60. Yankees aren't here to steal our women and force you to be a sharecropper. If you can 1) be polite; 2) relate to people; 3) sell your system/school/ability as a coach; you can recruit. Southerns are just as big as assholes ass northerners, we just add Ma'am and Sir to the insult.

Straw man. The fact is Moorhead don't have ANY ties to high school coaches in the south and that is VERY important. If we hired him this class would bolt faster than Mullen. We had Yankee number 1 and he did good things here BUT his hangup was recruiting and we all know it whether you or anybody want to admit it. We get in the big games and the talent gap showed big time!!! Now we have a chance to change all that and get a recruiting head man that knows the area and has recruited this area VERY WELL. And he would bring in other guys with similar recruiting attributes. If you want to continue to win 7-8 games a year, never beating Bama and losing to less talented Ole17'nMiss, then by all means advocate for Mullen 2.0. I sure as hell am not!

Dan's hang up with recruiting was Dan. If Dan had been born and raised in Weir, he would have still rubbed people the wrong way. SEC head coaches aren't the guys making contacts with HS coaches - it's the staff. Dan also picked staff with the same attitude he had. It wasn't until he was forced to bring in Peterson, Gibson, etc. that he started building those relationships. That has nothing to do with where he was from, it has to do with who HE was - an arrogant SOB who didn't think he had to recruit, that the players would come to him.

Im not talking about Mullen. I'm interested in the asst coach who developed ties to KTs school and other schools in the River Parishes. There is a buttload of talent in that area and we were starting to tap into that..
