I was told it was Luke last night and that we should all expect a happy moment this week. Seems confident. And it’s beginning to circulate apparently. We’ll see. Unfortunately, which happens way too often, both Mississippi schools get to be sad this week. I’ll make fun of them for hiring him, especially after the displays of sportsmanship we saw from his team Thanksgiving night, but it’s probably the best hire they can make right now. Smart financially too.

Luke hasn't left that campus since he enrolled as a freshman. Sure, he's had some coaching gigs elsewhere, but his family has been tied in there since before the 60s. He's giddy to have this job and was the only candidate given their sanctions.

I wish there would be an announcement from the SEC office on financial penalties for their hits on MSU players, etc. I've seen some mentions that Luke was just as dirty a player as his team is. If the shoe fits...

The enforcement staff didn't recommend a show cause for him so the COI won't be giving him one. The COI will go against enforcement for lighter sanctions than recommended it they won't add something that wasn't recommended

That was my immediate thought after the Egg Bowl. Even though I didn't know officially that Luke was hired- I knew that Luke was hired.
