They?re levying at least one more year of bowl bans and don?t want to deal with other schools trying to recruit their existing roster (or players contacting other schools to transfer) during the season which would be another can of worms opened.

IMO; it?s the only logical reason I can think of since the 8-10 week period has long passed.

It’s actually a 12 week timeframe. The time frame is technically still in play. But I️ agree that it’s not good news for them.

What if Luke is getting a show cause and the penalties are going to be super stiff, so the COI is waiting until after the season so as to not fire him mid season... ?
