This was brought up in an earlier thread today but Sexton doesn't and isn't pimping Dan. The talking heads brings Dan up plenty and there's nothing Dan can do to stop it. Every game telecast he has had an answer for the crew but Dan can't stop the pundits no matter what posters that keep bringing it up thinks.

We talked about this the other day when it was brought up. First off Gridiron Now and the article author is not known, written by only staff and was based solely on a podcast by Chris Landry (from Baton rouge and has credibility issues dating back years ago from false reporting and plagiarism). And he didn't say anything about Dan or Sexton being in talks with Tenn. It was another speculation from a pundit with no knowledge that it may be a job MUllen would be interested in. That's not even smoke much less fire. He even ended the quotes from Landry with "Dan Mullen) doesn’t sit there like fans of Tennessee will tell you and think, ‘well, Tennessee is a lot better than Mississippi State’ – not in Dan Mullen’s eyes,”

Dan is NOT going to TN! Megan told me yesterday morning at the hotel. And he Damn sure isn?t going to UCLA so we might as well shit this thread down! Sexton is doing his diligence to get Dan as much but also remember that the Slive rule is still in play and the SEC will not allow one school to poach another?s coach.

I?m glad Kelly is at Florida, if the rumors are true, I think if Auburn loses Saturday then Gus is back at Arky, and I believe that TN will end up with either Jeff Brohm or Brent Venables. And Sumlin stays at A&M unless those dumbasses want Chad Morris.

If the domino effect begins and some of these big money jobs get desperate...they could start throwing around Saban and Harbaugh money at a guy like Dan just so they dont end up being the last program standing without a coach.

Again, I think Dan stays. I think he wants to become State’s winningest coach next year, and capitalize on 2018’s team. I also think he’s starting to see just how great he has it here. I’m just saying, let’s hope these job openings simmer down a little bit, bc chaos is the only way things get crazy enough for him to think about leaving now imo

Some of the same ones were also saying Gruden and Tenn have reached an agreement or were in deep talks, and that was just as fabricated. Sexton wasn't Mullen's agent in 2015 and Maryland was completely made up from one poster on their 247 board. Literally no one else had any info on that supposed offer. Steve even talked about that on his podcast after the recruiting season. No one from either side, Steve and Maryland, could find a legitimate link or source on the Maryland deal. That whole thing started from a random anonymous poster on Maryland's site that their site administrators could not verify and people ran with that, including in this board. Miami was real but that was the only legitimate conversation and possible opportunity if Richt had not taken the job.
