You can nit-pick the end of the game all you want, but in pressure situations, decisions get made, players make plays. Bama made the plays. But if we had gone up 28-17 with 14 minutes left in the 4th quarter, I think we finish it. They score on the following drive to make it 28-24, then we punt, and they get it back. Instead of kicking the FG on 4th and 17, they likely go for it, and who knows what happens, but they'd have the pressure on them. I think our playcalling is totally different in that next series and we run the clock and drain their timeouts.

On their final drive, they are looking for a TD rather than a FG, with less time. Not to mention none of the above probably even happens, because we'd have so much confidence and the place would have been rocking. We get one more stop and the game was over.

You are correct. I knew if we scored a TD there it was over but a field goal would leave the door wide open.

And had Fitz hit 3 wide-ass open passes for TDs we'd have won easily. Hell, we may have it Cooke doesn't boom that last punt into the endzone.

If you're gonna blame someone, don't blame Cooke, he was a huge reason that we were in the game.

On to the next one. Bama beat us once. We can’t let them beat us twice.

When is the last time we can say there were 1 or 2 plays that determined who won between us and Bama? 2014, we were close but not this close. This game made me excited for the future but pissed off we let it slip through our fingers. Every player gave everything they had and I am proud to be a MSU Bulldog.

Are you in the film room today? Am I? No, we aren't. So what we post here has no bearing on how the team plays Saturday. Only thing we can control is if we show up in the stands on Thanksgiving night.

More than anything I'm attempting to demonstrate to the Mullen-haters that playcalling in the 4th quarter wasn't was doomed us.

Play calling was fine, except in a few cases, but the defense not getting a stop when we needed it really killed us. We get one stop to force a field goal try with 7 minutes left in the 4th when we were leading and we might have pulled it out.

100% Agree and I also agree that we needed the defense to get just 1 stop. It was especially bad when they ran the same RB around the right side for 3 straight plays that got about 10 yards a pop. For all the bitching Bama has done about LB depth, we had in the 4th quarter Willie Gay and Errol Thompson in the game at LB. 2 Freshman LB at the most important point in the game and they probably weren't "higher rated" than the LBs that Bama had on the field.

I really think this game gives us a shot in Tuscaloosa next year. Our team knows they can go toe to toe with Bama and if the ball bounces right or if an official actually calls a penalty on Ridley running out of bounds to lose his defender then we can win.

I feel the same way. 2014 we had 3 ints. We really didn't "deserve" to win that game. Saturday, we deserved that one. Our guys played their asses off. Very disappointed and pissed bc it was right there to take, but extremely excited about what the future holds.

Yeah, let it go after we get an explanation as to why Alabama wasn't penalized after Ridley went out of bounds on his own accord which resulted in their second TD.

We removed the invincibility and intimdation factor from bama Saturday. We didn't win because of fluke plays or bama turning the ball over 50 times(like others have)we stood toe to toe with them and we were more physical and punched them in the mouth over and over again. We didn't beat them but we proved to ourselves that the big, bad wolf ain't so big and bad when you punch him in the mouth. When you see Saban as pissed as he was at his defense and literally not knowing where we were gonna hit them next, that says a lot.
