I've been eyeing a gopro but havent been wanting to buy the hero 5 for $500. Really want it to try a get a little fishing video if I can ever get out there. I ended up coming across the Lightdow Action Camera and bought it so I'll report back if it's any good.

I got the camera with a few mounts and the 32 memory card for $66ish. Steal of a deal. The reviews I saw said the video quality wasn't quite as good as the gopro but with iMovie you can put a filter on it and make in comparable. Also has a zoom feature that would work well in the deer stand.

And a big kicker is GoPro doesn’t have patents on any of the mounting stuff SJ any of that will work for either.

Unpacked, it looks pretty dang good. I played around with it some today and everything seems to be in working order and I’m impressed with the quality. The true test will be in the field, especially mounted on the yak. We’ll see. I’m might do a little sample recording Saturday.

My brother took this same brand camera out to CO on a recent elk hunt. He got his whole kill filmed with it and the video seemed ok. It survived the hunt, which can be rough, for the money it’s probably a good deal. Let us know how it performs out on the water

Good to hear it survived those conditions. I actually need to buy a mount I've been eyeing from yak attack before I get it out on the water. Might get an action hat too.
