Slightly OT but looked at some stats.... In 2013 when State played Ok State in Houston to kick the season off I caught a Stros game the night before our football game. I bought a gen admin ticket for like 10$ off the street walked in and sat 10 rows behind home plate in a pretty empty stadium.. Probably more state fans there than true Astros fans.
In 2013 the Astros were working on a solid
51-111 regular season record and finished 45 games back in their division.
Turn to 2017
The Astros finished with a regular season record of 101-61 ... won their division by 21 games and won a World Series.
To me that is absolutely amazing the turn around they were able to make in that time frame.
In that time frame State really started to turn a corner as well.
2012 8-5
2013 7-6
2014 10-3
2015 9-4
2016 6-7
2017 6-2 with a shot at 9-3 (win a bowl) 10-3
Total to date: 46-27( if we go on to have the season we are capable of)
end of 2017 50-30 ( assuming we take care of business and win our bowl/alot of assuming I know)
That would equate to an 8+ win season 4 out of the last 6 years. With two a 9 and two 10 win seasons mixed in
Anyone thinking we aren't trending up in the right direction has lost their mind. And we need to collectively do what ever we can to keep this coaching staff intact.
To put in perspective
Alabama Arkansas Auburn LSU TSUN Aggies
2012 13-1 4-8 3-9 10-3 7-6 11-2
2013 11-2 3-9 12-2 10-3 8-5 9-4
2014 12-2 8-5 8-5 8-5 9-4 8-5
2015 14-1 8-5 7-6 9-4 10-3 8-5
2016 14-1 7-6 8-5 9-4 5-7 8-5
2017 8-0(likely 12-0 reg season) 3-5( looking at 4-8) 6-2(8-4 likely) 6-2(9-3 expected)3-5(4-8) 5-3( likely 7-5)
Total: 72-7 Likely 76-7(not including 2017 SECCG/playoffs) 33-38 (34-41) 44-29(46-31) 52-22(55-23) 39-30(40-33) 49-24 ( 51-26)
We are clearly climbing the latter in the SECW especially if you look at our trajectory over the next 2-3 years. LSU could be down. OM will suck, Aggies will Aggy and Arky sucks, and Auburn is a roller coaster. Only consistent winner is Bama.
Sorry once posted it jumbles the spacing of overall records my apologies not sure how to get it to stay in same format. My apologies in advance.
