What goes unsaid is the work that goes into recruiting the way he does.....it would be easy to chase the stars but the true work comes in seeing the hidden gems and working with them...I have noticed how he handles Fitzgerald every time he comes off the field, he is always coaching...even in the loses, he was talking and not yelling. Another aspect that people need to recognize is that for the first time in his tenure, he truely does not have to be concerned with the defense....Todd Grantham gives him what has been missing and is capable completely taking care of that side of the ball.

When you look at other coaches, you see few that develop players ... Hugh Freeze was the worst... how many players came in as the top at their position but are never drafted at the same level after their stint at Ole Miss . Conversely, Mullen has Consistently developed players to where they are much better off after their time at MSU.
